Larry Dix is the Executive Director for The Crossings at Spring Hill, which is a new Assisted Living community in Lorton, VA. He has extensive experience as an administrator for long-term care organizations. His recent accomplishments include the development of a high performing service team that achieved service related awards for two years in a row. Additionally, he maintained a fully occupied community for 6 consecutive months before experiencing a modest decline. Larry attributes his success to engaging, supporting and developing talented associates and inspiring them to fulfill the mission of the organization. He moved to Virginia, specifically, to pursue the opportunity to open a newly developed community.
Larry is passionate about providing the best care for those that he serves! He has a love for Psychology (understanding human behavior and the mind), which comes out through his passion for quality dementia care and inspiring his followers. Larry is a Certified Dementia Practitioner and has training privileges for the CDP certification. He is the author of a book titled, “Core Leadership: Journey within to Produce Results without Limits”! Larry has been a healthcare leader since 2004 serving in different environments, which includes Medical Adult Daycare, nursing homes, Outpatient wound centers and Assisted Livings. His heart is leading teams to serve residents who reside in Assisted Living communities. He has provided numerous trainings to his employees and the community on topics ranging from mental health to team building.
Larry received his “eagle, globe and anchor” pendant in 1998 and is proud of his Marine Corps experience. He is a motivational speaker and has served on the Alzheimer’s Association committee for multiple annual Alzheimer’s walks. He lives in Capitol Heights, Maryland, is interested in jazz music, meditation, coaching, running, boxing, water sports and writing.
